Bankruptcy Education Letter
We understand that you are here because you have filed for protection under the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 (BAPCPA) and are required to receive mandatory credit education before your bankruptcy can be discharged.
These classes are 2 hours in length either by phone or in person. If participating via internet the course is also minimum 2 hours but it will allow you to work at your own pace. You will have 24 hours to complete the course on line.

(RDI/CCCS) is a member of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (“NFCC”) The NFCC has high standards for quality credit counseling and financial education, and this agency complies with those standards. In addition, we are accredited by the Council on Accreditation (“COA”), an independent third-party organization that reviews and monitors entities that provide social services.

- Developing Sound Financial Habits
- Developing Budgeting Skills
- Understanding and Using Credit
- Credit Report and Credit Scores
- How to Rebuild Your Credit
- What to Watch for From Lenders
- Predatory Lenders
- Identity Theft
- What is Insurance
We will conclude with resources and financial tools that you will be able to take with you and refer to long after the class. This class will also include a pre and post test, to help us define your individual needs and ensure they are met. We will also ask you to complete a participant survey to gather your feedback and help us improve our efforts.
Upon completion of this course you will be provided a certificate of completion. Our educators are trained and possess adequate experience and knowledge to provide effective instruction and services. Our educators will posses either teaching credentials or certification from a recognized independent organization. These certifications could be as financial planner, certified public accountant, registered financial consultant or certified credit/financial counselor.
If you are enrolled in the online version of the education portion there will be a live chat option available M-F 8-5:30 PM MST. If you are participating outside of these times you will be able to submit an email to us and a certified counselor will contact you the next business morning.
We will not disclose any information that you provide orally or in writing to anyone, except as authorized by you in writing or as required by law, such as in response to a subpoena. We may compile data and aggregate information that you give us, but this information will not be disclosed in any manner that would personally identify you.
To help cover the cost of providing this class to you, this agency charges a fee of $50 per registrant. You may be eligible to have this fee reduced or waived. Service will not be denied for consumers that lack the ability to pay. We do not pay or receive fees or other consideration for the referral of debtor students to or by the provider.
